FAQs

  • Direct referrals from partnering organizations within the OKC metro.

  • We receive the referral.

Our staff speaks with the family to learn more about their situation, needs, and urgency.

Each family is entered into our system with 1 of 3 triage levels: Red - Yellow - Green, Red is most urgent, usually helped within 1 day. Green - usually helped within one week.

Our staff and volunteers pack & deliver the “manna”/necessities to our families.

We pray with each family and seek to refer them to partner organizations to take them from surviving to thriving.

  • Yes! Manna Ministry is an officially registered 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization.

  • Prayer: We believe that prayer is powerful. Our staff needs prayer for discernment on how to best serve our community. The families that we serve need prayer for safety and provision. Finally, pray that God would be glorified in all we do.

Donate: Our families need your tangible support. Consider sponsoring one family or giving monthly as a “Manna Member.”

Volunteer: Many hands make for light work! We are always looking for volunteers to help pack food and supplies as well as drivers interested in connecting with our families and sharing the Gospel as the Spirit leads.

  • Each family and each situation is different, but some common causes are:

    • No transportation, so no access to food banks.

    • No job or job opportunities.

    • Number of children makes public transportation difficult.

    • Pending qualification for food stamps, unemployment, etc. It can be 2-6 weeks between application and processing completion.

    • Missing documents needed to qualify for certain resources right away. Birth cert, etc.

    • Have been denied at shelters based on their number of kids.

    • Waiting on the “red tape” to qualify for housing, etc.

  • Maximum 40 days. We are open to revisiting families as necessary (say a year goes by and they need emergency assistance). However, each time we “accept a referral” for crisis intervention - we aim to close that case and refer them to long-term help within 40 days.
